Obituary for Barnett (Bob) Markman

MARKMAN, Barnett H. “Bob”, formerly of Howard Beach and Brooklyn, NY, Beloved and devoted husband of Marilyn (nee Kast). Proud father of Stephen R. Markman, Esq., of New York, NY and Randi. Loving brother of Marvin (Marilyn) Markman and dear brother-in-law of Bonnie Olsen. After serving in the Korean War, Bob then became a public accountant in Brooklyn, NY for more than fifty years. He represented many extremely well-known businesses in the tri-State area including some of the biggest Jewelry manufacturers in New York’s diamond district. Bob also represented the famed MetroPole Café in Times Square and the Bottom Line Cabaret in Greenwich Village. He was a staunch lifelong supporter of progressive, humanitarian and Jewish causes and charities, a patron and benefactor of the arts and theater and a former honorary director of the City Symphony Orchestra of New York. Graveside services Sunday 10:30 AM at Beth Moses Cemetery, W. Babylon, NY
