At Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial Chapel we have served the Jewish community of Greater New York for over 120 years. With two chapels, our Jewish funeral home in Brooklyn is able to accommodate a variety of needs that a family may have. Our facilities are constantly updated in order to provide an experience that is both visually appealing and functional. We understand that each and every family requires personalized service. Our attention to detail and flexible options allow Brooklyn, Midwood and New York City families to pay tribute to their loved one in a meaningful and dignified way. Founded in 1898, Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial chapel remains one of the few family-owned and independently operated Jewish funeral homes in Brooklyn, Midwood and the entire New York City area. Our funeral director, Joe Sherman, is a fourth generation funeral director and leads our team of dedicated funeral directors and funeral home staff.
We are committed every day to providing New York’s Jewish families with support, resources and the necessary care to help them through loss. When a loved one passes away, there are many decisions that need to be made in a timely fashion, paper work that must be filled out and legal arrangements that need to be made. For 120 years, we have been helping people navigate through the funeral planning process. Whether a family is looking for affordable Jewish burial services, cremation services or are interested in pre-planning a funeral, we work to ensure that their service choices are informed. Planning a funeral does not have to be complicated, frustrating or overwhelming. Dealing with grief and bereavement is difficult enough. We invite Jewish families to contact us for anything you would need from a Jewish funeral home in Brooklyn. If you are looking for an ally, we are ready to go above and beyond for all of those who are entrusted into our care. As proud members the vibrant New York City community, we believe it is important to constantly make ourselves available for those in need. Even with deaths that are expected by the family, there is always some level of guidance needed to help the family deal with loss and say goodbye in a memorable way.
